Erich Paul Remark nasceva in un familia catholic german multo laborante. Con 18 annos de etate, ille partiva pro le trenchea durante le Prime Guerra Mundial, ubi ille ha essite ferite multe vices. Post le guerra, ille cambiava su nomine pro Remarque e habeva multe empleos como bibliothecario, homine de negotio, professor e editor.
Su obra le plus cognite es le romance Im Westen nichts Neues (Nulle nove in le west).
